    British Airways and American Airlines Unveil Bridge Bar at JFK Airport Terminal 8

    British Airways and American Airlines are further enhancing the newly renovated Terminal 8 at JFK airport with the unveiling of the first of its kind, Bridge Bar.  Featuring a variety of non-alcoholic and spirited cocktails, including Aviation American Gin and Betty Buzz, the premium bar will be part of the Greenwich LoungeTM experience, within the joint premium Lounges offered by the two airline partners.
    The new Bridge Bar is designed to celebrate the love of flying and offers customers a place to relax pre-flight, while enjoying delicious cocktails and mocktails. The cocktail menu features a variety of alcohol and non-alcoholic cocktails, including Aviation American Gin which infuses a blend of botanicals and is fronted by actor Ryan Reynolds; and Betty Buzz, a range of non-alcoholic sparkling mixers founded by actress Blake Lively.
    Betty Buzz prides itself on using clean ingredients like real juice and no artificial flavours, colours or sweeteners. Menu creations include drinks featuring one of five Betty Buzz flavors such as the tasty ‘Blushing Betty’ and the sparkling ‘Adventure Awaits’. Customers can also enjoy a range of non-alcoholic or spirited Aviation American Gin cocktail creations at their leisure.

    In summer 2024, Disney Cruise Line will welcome guests to a one-of-a-kind island destination at Lighthouse Point, located on the island of Eleuthera in The Bahamas, for the first time.Created in close collaboration with local artists and advisors, the vibrant island retreat will be a unique celebration of Bahamian culture brought to life with the quality and service of a Disney vacation.

    New details about Lighthouse Point reveal a relaxing beach escape designed with families in mind, infused with the color and energy of Bahamian artistry, and developed with a commitment to conservation at its core.
    Uniquely Designed, Sustainably Developed
    When guests arrive to Lighthouse Point, they’ll be greeted by distinctive, sweeping architecture in bright, saturated hues — a bold style inspired by nature and created in partnership with local artists.ADVERTISEMENTThe curvilinear buildings will at first appear as Bahamian shells scattered along the shoreline. Upon closer inspection, guests will discover artistic expressions of the native flora and fauna of The Bahamas and the pageantry and history of Junkanoo parades. Throughout the destination, references to playful folklore characters will evoke the warmth and charm of the local culture.
    Respect for the environment is at the heart of the design. At least 90 percent of the destination’s electricity needs will be met by an onsite solar array, the pier was designed to avoid the need for dredging and elevated walkways will help limit impact on the landscape.

    Fun and Relaxation for Everyone
    At Lighthouse Point, families will enjoy a day of fun in the sun as they relax on pristine beaches, embark on active adventures and discover the magic of Bahamian storytelling alongside favorite Disney characters. Much like Disney’s cruise ships and private island of Castaway Cay, Lighthouse Point will offer activities and areas for every age group.
    Families can relax and play along white sandy beaches and turquoise waters at the expansive family beach on the east side of the island, which will be centrally located near market-style dining, recreation and other amenities.A Bahamian art and culture pavilion featuring special programs and local artists will provide visitors to Lighthouse Point opportunities to learn and celebrate the traditions and natural beauty of The Bahamas.A brightly-colored, interactive family water play area will include two slides, water drums, fountains and more, along with a dedicated space for toddlers.Additional recreational activities will be available for kids and kids-at-heart, including a covered gaming pavilion; a volleyball court and gaga ball pit; watercraft and bicycle rentals; nature trails for hiking and biking; and more.North of the family area will be an adult-exclusive beach — a glorious stretch of sun-drenched serenity complete with a dedicated dining area for convenient access to food and drinks throughout the day, plus six private cabanas available by reservation.Children ages 3 to 12 will splash and play at a themed kids’ club under the care of highly-trained Disney Cruise Line counselors.     The official website of Mekong Tourism has been re-imagined with a range of dynamic new digital elements for a variety of visitors – from consumer travellers to academics and researchers, from journalists to sustainable tourism advocates.Managed by the Mekong Tourism Coordinating Office (MTCO), the new-look mekongtourism.org aims to position itself as a major online start point and research asset for travel and tourism in Cambodia, China, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam.
    The new website is easy to navigate and offers quicker search than previously. The site has been designed for mobile responsiveness and compatibility. It has been created to work well on desktop, tablet and mobile phone.

    Calgary Airport Authority appoints Chris Dinsdale as new President & CEO

    Matthew Heffernan, Chair of the Board of The Calgary Airport Authority, is pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Dinsdale as the new President & CEO of The Calgary Airport Authority
    After an extensive international search, Chris Dinsdale was identified as the best strategic leader to take YYC through its next phase of growth. Chris was chosen for his deep experience, passion and proven track record in airports, along with his emphasis on developing lean and efficient operations.  In addition, his focus on providing a unique and high-quality passenger experience and his experience developing strategic airline partnerships will allow YYC to continue its development into the future. The Board is confident Chris will amplify YYC’s success in providing our guests with the memorable and exceptional experiences they’ve come to expect from YYC and providing strong leadership for our Crew.
    “Chris is a highly regarded leader in aviation, finance and business,” said Matthew Heffernan, Board Chair. “We are confident his leadership, operational knowledge and focus on positive customer experiences will ensure The Authority continues on its path of robust recovery and growth.”
    Born and raised in Canada, Chris Dinsdale joins The Authority from the Budapest Airport where he has worked for almost eight years, most recently as CEO.

I am delighted to join The Calgary Airport Authority, which plays a critical role in the Alberta and Canadian economies,” said Chris Dinsdale.  “I am honoured to have the opportunity to work with the excellent team at YYC and very excited for the opportunity to continue to build on YYC’s solid foundation of ensuring a world class travel experience for our guests.”ADVERTISEMENTUnder Chris’ strong leadership, the Budapest Airport has recently received one of the highest awards in the airport sector from the Airport International Council, being voted by passengers as the “2022 Best Airport in Europe (15m – 25m PAX).” Also, during Chris Dinsdale’s tenure as CEO of the Budapest Airport, the airport received the 2022 Skytrax World Airport Awards, “Best Airport in Eastern Europe” award and received the 2022 “Cargo Hub of the Year” award at the distinguished Air Cargo News Awards. In addition, Chris has pursued a strong focus on community engagement and sustainability, with the Budapest Airport setting an aggressive 2035 deadline for achieving net zero emissions.
    Chris Dinsdale will replace Bob Sartor who announced his departure as President & CEO in March 2022 after six years in the role. Chris Dinsdale will start his tenure at The Calgary Airport Authority later this year.
