FortyGuard, a market leader for urban heat intelligence and mitigation, has been recognised with the title of World’s Leading Sustainable Technology Initiative 2025 by voters at the World Sustainable Travel & Hospitality Awards (WSTHA).
The prize was revealed in front of hundreds of global leaders of sustainable tourism gathered in Dubai for the World Sustainable Travel & Hospitality Awards 2025. The VIP ceremony was held at Terra, Expo City Dubai and recognised the individuals and organisations that are accelerating change in net positive tourism.
FortyGuard combats extreme urban heat with a hyperlocal climate intelligence platform that maps surface temperatures down to 10×10 metres using Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, and satellite data. In cities like Abu Dhabi, it has helped reduce heat exposure by up to 5°C in targeted zones, lowering cooling loads, reducing infrastructure stress, and improving public health outcomes.
“At FortyGuard, we see temperature not as a number, but as intelligence — a new dimension of sustainability. This award affirms that vision. It’s a recognition of what’s possible when technology meets purpose, and a reminder of our duty to keep transforming temperature data into real-world impact — for cities, businesses, and the planet,” said Jay Sadiq, Founder & CEO, FortyGuard.
Ingesting 15 million data points daily, FortyGuard partners with smart city developers, research institutions, and municipalities to guide urban planning for climate resilience. The platform aligns with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 9, 11, and 13, and integrates with green building standards. Its freemium awareness tools increase community access to heat data, while APIs and dashboards support city-wide integration. By making heat visible, measurable, and actionable, FortyGuard enables governments, planners, and citizens to proactively adapt to rising climate extremes—making it a powerful enabler of sustainable and resilient urban tourism infrastructure.
WSTHA is run in partnership with the World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance, whose partners and members represent over 66,000 hotels, eight million rooms globally, 300 brands, and over 100 supply chain and strategic partners.
