RelocateU wins Sustainability Initiative of the Year award

RelocateU, the corporate housing provider redefining sustainability in global relocation, has been honoured with the Sustainability Initiative of the Year award at the Forum for Expatriate Management (FEM) Awards 2025, winning across all three regions: EMEA, APAC and the Americas.  This rare triple recognition underscores RelocateU’s leadership in aligning profit with purpose and delivering measurable environmental and social impact worldwide.

The FEM Awards, known as the EMMAs, are regarded as the most prestigious awards in global mobility.  With ceremonies held in London, Singapore and Dallas, the awards celebrate innovation, excellence and leadership across HR, relocation and expatriate services.

Key achievements from RelocateU’s sustainability initiatives include:

Restoring kelp forest across 13 barren sites in the coastal areas of Sydney, transforming underwater deserts into thriving ecosystems that protect biodiversity, capture carbon, and provide vital habitat for marine life
Reforesting 28,700 m² (almost three hectares) across Croatia and Australia using tree-planting drones in partnership with Magic Forest and AirSeedTech – the equivalent of 110 tennis courts
Serving more than 65,000 meals through a soup kitchen in Lahore and building five water pumps for communities in Pakistan
Renovating a school for child labourers in Kasur, transforming it into a vibrant, safe space for education and hope
Collaborating with Operation Crayweed to ensure every booking funds the planting of underwater trees, restoring marine forests that absorb CO₂
Pioneering Scope 4 “avoided emissions” reporting, empowering clients to make climate-conscious decisions with measurable impact
Achieving EcoVadis Gold certification, placing RelocateU among the top 5 percent of companies globally for sustainability and social responsibility

“This recognition across EMEA, APAC, and the Americas underscores our belief that companies must prioritise and invest in initiatives that uplift both the planet and people, driving positive change on a global scale,” said Lucie Nazir, co-founder and managing director of RelocateU.  “From underwater forests to soup kitchens, every initiative we lead is rooted in care, urgency, and transformation. We’re proving that the global mobility industry can drive meaningful change, helping both the planet and communities thrive while delivering value that aligns with business goals.”

Winning in all three regions highlights RelocateU’s ability to deliver transformative sustainability initiatives with global resonance – which impressed competition judges.

On RelocateU’s entry, the judges commented: “With measurable results, innovative tools, and a bold vision, RelocateU sets a new benchmark for how sustainability can uplift both people and planet – not just as a business function, but as a transformative force.”

Claire Tennant-Scull, Global Director at FEM added: “EMMAs entries are always rigorously judged by a team of fiercely impartial, highly experienced, senior figures in the industry, who are drawn from a range of disciplines… and who give up their own free time to carry out a very thorough and demanding process. So, these awards carry tremendous kudos.”

RelocateU continues to drive industry-wide change, showing that sustainability isn’t just a buzzword, it’s a central driver of business success.
