MARRIOTT INTERNATIONAL PLANS TO STRENGTHEN FOOTPRINT IN MOROCCO

Marriott International, Inc. unveiled plans to diversify its presence in Morocco with the introduction of five brands in the market: Four Points by Sheraton, Moxy Hotels, Residence Inn by Marriott, Autograph Collection Hotels and AC Hotels by Marriott. The entry of the brands is a part of the company’s broader growth plans in the country, which includes the anticipated addition of seven properties and over 800 rooms by the end of 2027. 

Marriott’s expansion in Morocco further reinforces a commitment to diversifying its portfolio in the market and supporting the country’s growing tourism sector. The company’s current operations in the market comprises 10 properties with over 1,700 rooms across six brands and five cities – Casablanca, Rabat, Marrakesh, Fes and Tamuda Bay.

Each of the anticipated new brands will offer diverse travel experiences tailored to different traveler needs:
Four Points by Sheraton: Renowned for its timeless style and genuine service, Four Points caters to business and leisure travelers seeking comfort and value in a relaxed atmosphere. Four Points by Sheraton, Casablanca, Bouskoura is expected to open in Q3 2026.
Moxy Hotels: Designed for the next-generation traveler, Moxy offers a vibrant, playful, and social hotel experience with stylish design, lively communal spaces, and tech-savvy amenities. Moxy Casablanca is slated to open in 2027.
Residence Inn by Marriott: Ideal for extended stays, Residence Inn provides spacious suites with fully equipped kitchens, separate living and sleeping areas, and thoughtful services to help guests thrive on longer trips. Residence Inn by Marriott Casablanca is planned to open in 2027.
Autograph Collection Hotels: A curated portfolio of independent hotels that celebrates individuality and character. Each property within the collection is handpicked for its distinct design, rich storytelling, and immersive guest experience, offering travelers a unique alternative to traditional hotel stays. Amerruk, Marrakech, Autograph Collection is expected to open in 2026 with 22 rooms.
AC Hotels by Marriott: Rooted in European design and sophistication, AC Hotels blend modern aesthetics with purposeful details, offering an elegant and frictionless experience for business and leisure guests alike. AC by Marriott Casablanca La Corniche is expected to open in 2027.

Other notable openings by the end of 2026 include Villa Sahrai Casablanca, a member of Design Hotels, which is scheduled to open by end of this year with 56 stylish rooms, two signature restaurants, a spa by Cinq Mondes, and vibrant rooftop venues. Taghazout Bay Marriott Resort, which is scheduled to open early next year with 250 rooms, multiple dining experiences, and direct access to the beach.

Le Méridien Casablanca has recently opened, further enriching Marriott’s portfolio in the country. The hotel blends Parisian heritage with Moroccan elegance and reinterprets the brand’s timeless chic aesthetics through the lens of contemporary art, design, and culinary exploration. With 145 stylish guest rooms and suites, a collection of vibrant dining venues, and exclusive lifestyle experiences, the hotel invites global travellers and local tastemakers to uncover Casablanca differently.

The Ritz Carlton Rabat, Dar Es Salam is set to unveil The Retreat in Q2 2026—an exclusive enclave nestled within the resort that redefines opulence and privacy. This secluded haven will feature a dedicated entrance, personalized butler service, and a refined Club House, offering guests an atmosphere of serene indulgence. The Retreat will comprise 24 elegantly appointed villas ranging from one to three bedrooms, each with its own private pool. At its pinnacle stands the magnificent 894m² Villa Ritz Carlton, boasting four bedrooms, a private home cinema, and an ambiance of unparalleled grandeur.
Le Meridien N’Fis, located in Marrakesh, is undergoing a full renovation to elevate the guest experience with modernised rooms, enhanced dining venues, and revitalised spa and wellness facilities, all while preserving its signature Moroccan charm.
Marriott Fès Jnan Palace, located just steps from Fès’s legendary medina, the hotel has recently launched two new F&B venues with Pachamama, a vibrant Spanish restaurant that blends Andalusian flair with Mediterranean soul and the Croon Lounge, which offers a sophisticated yet vibrant atmosphere where expertly crafted cocktails meet a curated selection of gourmet bites
