Mandarin Oriental is setting a global benchmark in sustainable luxury through its transparent, accountable, and action-led sustainability strategy. With clearly defined 2030 environmental targets, the group drives property-led optimisation in energy efficiency, renewable sourcing, water conservation, and waste minimisation. Since 2012, it has tracked Scope 1 and 2 emissions, and is now measuring Scope 3 to enable deeper decarbonisation.

By protecting natural ecosystems and preserving cultural heritage, we aim to generate lasting, positive impact for the communities who are at the heart of our destinations.”

Procurement practices are rigorously verified by third-party auditor LRQA, maintaining 100% responsible sourcing for core commodities and 93% for cage-free eggs. Through its Responsible Hotel Development Guidelines, the group ensures sustainability is embedded from the ground up.
