Aeroflot, in partnership with Pulkovo Airport and the Biometric Technology Center, successfully tested the “Migom” service in December. The service enables passengers to pass pre-flight checks using biometric identification without presenting a passport.
With the participation of its subsidiary IT company, AFLT-Systems, Aeroflot implemented a set of technical upgrades on the airline’s website within a short timeframe and completed integration with the Unified System of Identification and Authentication (ESIA) and the Unified Biometric System. Cryptographic security of the service is ensured by CryptoPro software solutions.
Passengers can pre-register for the service on the Aeroflot website and use biometric identification to:
check in for a flight at the airport;
access the sterile area of the airport;
board the aircraft at the gate.
The next step is preparation for the commercial launch of the service, including the development of regulatory procedures by government authorities. It is expected that the first passengers will be able to use the “Migom” service in the second half of 2026.
The “Migom” biometric boarding service is implemented on the basis of the government-operated Unified Biometric System. Passengers will always have the option to choose how to board the aircraft — using a passport or biometric identification.
Aeroflot is the largest Russian airline. The eponymous Group also includes Rossiya and Pobeda airlines. Aeroflot Group is the undisputed leader of Russian commercial aviation. In 2024, Aeroflot carried 30.1 million passengers (55.3 million if other Aeroflot Group airlines are included).
