From Ibizan Shores to Alpine Snow: Cult restaurant Pom Thaï Opens in Courchevel 1850

This December, the spirit of Ibiza meets the slopes of the French Alps as beloved Thai restaurant Pom Thaï officially opens its doors in Courchevel 1850. After years of building a cult following among Ibiza’s gastronomes, DJs, and creatives, the restaurant is proud to bring its signature blend of authentic Thai flavours, artful ambience and wine-centric hospitality to one of Europe’s most sought-after ski resorts.

Founded in 2014 by lifelong food and wine devotee Johnny, and Pom, the restaurant’s Thai head chef and master of traditional culinary techniques, Pom Thaï has earned its popularity for its refined reinterpretations of ancient Thai recipes. Its menu is celebrated for its depth of flavour, craftsmanship and its exceptional wine list curated from artisanal producers.

With its new outpost, Pom Thaï channels its unmistakable Ibiza energy into the mountains, all while staying true to its signature spirit: discreet, unpretentious and warmly welcoming. Designed with wood accents and curated art pieces, the restaurant offers a serene and stylish escape, perfect for a gourmet dinner after a day on the slopes, a relaxed evening with friends, or an intimate gathering in a cosy setting.

The menu presents a curated selection of dishes rooted in traditional Thaï techniques and inspired by ancient recipes, with plenty of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. Highlights include Mou Van, Suea Rong Hai, Lab Neux, Toung Tong, Pad Thaï, a variety of aromatic Curries. To finish, guests can enjoy flavoursome desserts such as

Khao Niao Mamuang and Por Pia Chocolat, a sweet, comforting finale to the experience.

To complement the experience, Pom Thaï offers thoughtful wine pairings selected from passionate winegrowers. Each bottle is chosen to complement the flavours of the dishes and to bring a narrative of terroir to the table.

Jonny comments: “After more than ten years of welcoming guests to Pom Thaï in Ibiza, we know that many of them spend their winters on the slopes. Opening in Courchevel allows us to follow them to a place they love and introduce our cuisine to an entirely new audience. We’re thrilled to bring a different kind of energy to the resort: authentic Thai cooking, thoughtful wines and the warm, unpretentious hospitality that has always been at the heart of Pom Thaï.”

Blending flavour, craft and a sense of place, Pom Thaï promises to become one of Courchevel’s most talked-about new openings this winter.
