Wizz Air, the fastest-growing European airline and London’s local airline, today announces the launch of a brand new route from London Gatwick to Santorini, further expanding its Greek network ahead of the peak summer travel season.
The new service will take off on 1 July, operating twice weekly on Wednesdays and Sundays, offering UK travellers even more choice when planning their summer getaways to Greece. The new route to Santorini comes as Wizz Air continues to expand its routes from the UK to Greece and builds on recently announced connections to Chania, Corfu, Mykonos, Rhodes and Zakynthos, launching this summer.
Santorini is one of Greece’s most iconic islands, renowned for its whitewashed villages, dramatic caldera views and unforgettable sunsets. Often associated with high-end travel, the island has traditionally been seen as out of reach for many travellers. With this new route, Wizz Air is giving customers the opportunity to experience one of Greece’s hotspots at affordable prices, reflecting the airline’s mission to make travel accessible to everyone.
The route comes as Wizz Air continues to expand its fleet and grow its operations from the UK, offering over 110 routes from the UK to nearly 80 destinations, giving UK travellers the opportunity to discover a range of destinations across Europe and beyond, from hidden gems to summer beach escapes.
