Hilton has appointed luxury hospitality veteran Etienne Dalançon as General Manager of the upcoming Waldorf Astoria Kuala Lumpur, set to open in late 2026. This marks the debut of the iconic Waldorf Astoria brand in Malaysia, with the landmark property located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur’s Golden Triangle, Bukit Bintang.
Etienne brings over 20 years of experience in luxury hospitality, most recently serving as General Manager of Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi, where his leadership saw the resort earn top accolades from Travel + Leisure, Condé Nast Traveler, and the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star rating. He has held senior leadership roles across Asia and Europe and is recognised for his strategic vision, hands-on leadership style, and deep appreciation for service excellence.
Waldorf Astoria Kuala Lumpur will feature 268 suites, seven distinctive dining and cocktail venues, a world-class wellness centre, and expansive meeting and event spaces—designed to deliver the brand’s signature blend of timeless elegance and personalised luxury.
“I am honoured to lead the launch of Waldorf Astoria Kuala Lumpur and bring the brand’s sincerely elegant service to this dynamic city,” said Dalançon. “Together with the team, we look forward to creating memorable guest experiences that reflect both Waldorf Astoria’s heritage and the vibrant spirit of Kuala Lumpur.”
